Welcome, kids, to LingoAce Story Time! Today, Teacher Xiaoyu is going to tell you a story about the idiom "Guā Mù Xiāng Kàn."
Let the story begin!

During the Three Kingdoms period, Lu Meng, a general from the Wu Kingdom, was renowned for his outstanding martial skills and remarkable military achievements. However, he was not enthusiastic about reading books. Sun Quan, the ruler of Wu, suggested to Lu Meng that he should read more, broaden his knowledge, and expand his horizons. Initially, Lu Meng used the excuse of being busy with military affairs to reject this suggestion. However, Sun Quan insisted, stating that he didn't expect Lu Meng to become a learned scholar but simply wished for him to read and gain more knowledge.

Lu Meng followed Sun Quan's advice and began reading books in his leisure time. Gradually, his knowledge expanded, and his insights became more extensive.
One day, a crucial strategist of Wu, Lu Su, was passing through Lu Meng's territory on his way to Lukou. Initially, Lu Su looked down on Lu Meng, considering him just a rough military man with nothing worth seeing. However, persuaded by others, he decided to visit Lu Meng.

During their meeting, Lu Meng took the initiative to discuss how to deal with the neighboring Shu Kingdom general, Guan Yu, asking for advice on how to guard against him. Lu Su didn't give it much thought and casually responded. However, Lu Meng keenly realized that facing a formidable opponent like Guan Yu required early preparation. He provided Lu Su with five strategic plans, demonstrating extraordinary tactics and wisdom.

Lu Su was very surprised by Lu Meng's change. He no longer saw Lu Meng as the rough military commander he used to be but as a military leader with outstanding abilities and strategies. Lu Meng profoundly told Lu Su, "For someone with aspirations, they should reassess them after a few days of separation."
