
To many around the world, Jeremy Lin is an Asian American icon. When he dominated the NBA during the 2011-2012 season to lead the New York Knicks on an unprecedented seven-week winning streak known as “Linsanity”, he achieved an impossible dream and shattered long-held stereotypes. This is explored thoughtfully in a new documentary, “38 at the Garden”, which is now streaming exclusive on HBO Max.

Jeremy’s story is about the audacity of hope and believing in your dreams no matter what. His passion and drive are what we hope to inspire in our learners as we open up a world of possibilities through language learning and culture sharing. That’s why we were over the moon to announce Jeremy Lin as our global brand ambassador earlier this year. There truly was no better person to represent LingoAce’s values and mission.
As Hugh Yao, founder and CEO of LingoAce so aptly put it, “Jeremy’s personal story, passion for education and bridging cultures, as well as his impact for society, make him the most ideal brand ambassador for LingoAce. Access to education
Jeremy is no stranger to the difficulties of inequality when seeking an education. He shares, “Growing up and playing basketball in California, I personally knew many kids that had to navigate through inequities in terms of access to education.” He established the Jeremy Lin Foundation in 2011. Serving overlooked AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander) and cross-racial youth organizations, the Foundation supports comprehensive programs through narrative change, community empowerment, and cross-racial solidarity.

On this, Jeremy adds, “No matter what a child’s situation is, I believe that education is always valuable and is the cornerstone of opportunities for individuals – I’ve always believed that talent is universal but opportunity is not. It’s why I started my foundation and have been engaging in impact investing to support mission-driven companies. I am proud to be partnering with LingoAce to help children across the globe from all backgrounds to be open to new cultures and languages, perspectives and wisdom, friendship and connections, as well as futures and possibilities.”
Language as a door to future opportunities
Having grown up in the United States, Jeremy knows firsthand the struggles of having to learn a second language. Through this partnership with LingoAce, Jeremy understands the value of utilizing technology to create immersive learning experiences so that more children can learn new languages with ease.
