Tell us about your child attending LingoAce?
My daughter, Xuan Ya, has been attending the 1v1 online Chinese preschool program at LingoAce since 2022. She started in K1 and is currently in P1, continuing her learning journey with LingoAce.
What Made You Choose LingoAce Over Other Options?
I chose LingoAce over other options because of its fun and gamified approach, which includes many interactive activities with digital devices, making learning enjoyable for Xuan Ya. In addition to that, a plus point for me was that the program's structure was both fun and educational at the same time, allowing my daughter to learn new words while staying engaged over the short 25 min sessions that happen twice a week. I believe that this helped her tremendously in building a learning habit over time, and I have personally seen her interest in Chinese growing over the past 2 years.
In fact, Xuan Ya is looking forward to every lesson nowadays as she continues to build on her confidence in the Chinese language!
Were there any difficulties that Xuan Ya encountered at the start of her journey with LingoAce?
As our family environment is predominantly english-speaking, there isn’t much opportunities for Xuan Ya to practice speaking mandarin, let alone writing. I was initially worried about how she was going to cope with starting primary school and learning Chinese at a P1 level.
Nevertheless, with the short, yet effective online lessons with LingoAce over her preschool years, Xuan Ya managed to build a good foundation in her kindergarten years to allow her to transition easily into Primary 1 this year!
Additionally, her teacher also played a big part in identifying her Chinese language weaknesses, and her emphasis on building up listening and speaking skillsets has allowed Xuan Ya to improve quite a bit in her confidence over a short period of time. The 1-to-1 aspect was also useful as Xuan Ya was initially quite shy, but managed to overcome that with the help of her friendly teacher.

Which Aspects of our Preschool Chinese program do you find the most useful?
Personally, I feel that the playback features was a very good feature to have, as it allows not only Xuan Ya, but myself included to review what is going on during the lesson. As per what her teacher suggested, repetition is key to building up a strong Chinese foundation, and the playback feature has been very useful in building up her vocabulary over time.
